William O'Brien
Chief Executive Officer
William O'Brien joined Direct Edge as Chief Executive Officer in July 2007. Prior to his appointment to Direct Edge, Mr. O'Brien was Senior Vice President at The NASDAQ Stock Market, having held senior management positions in NASDAQ’s New Listings and Market Data units.
Mr. O'Brien joined NASDAQ in 2004 by way of Brut, LLC, where he had been Chief Operating Officer since 2002, helping lead the company through a period of significant growth and its acquisition by NASDAQ. He originally joined Brut as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in 2000. Mr. O'Brien was an attorney in the Legal Department of Goldman Sachs from 1998 to 2000 and at Orrick LLP from 1995 to 1998. He has a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

Bryan Harkins
Chief Operating Officer
Bryan Harkins is the Chief Operating Officer of Direct Edge, one of the leading stock exchange operators in the United States and globally. He joined the company in March 2007, where his industry knowledge and effective leadership skills were instrumental to the company capturing over 10% of the US equity market. He is responsible for operations, product development, sales, and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Exchanges.
Mr. Harkins has over 14 years of experience in the electronic trading space, having held a variety of technical, operational, and senior sales positions at Instinet, BRUT LLC, and NASDAQ. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Glen Badach
Chief Financial Officer
Glen Badach joined Direct Edge as the firm’s Controller in October 2007. He oversees all the financial planning, reporting, and operations for the firm.
Mr. Badach served in a similar position with Brut, LLC, where as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer he played a pivotal role in the sale of the company to SunGard Data Systems, He also worked for over a decade in the Finance Department of Morgan Stanley, ultimately serving as Division Controller. He has a B.S. in Accounting from Farleigh Dickinson University and holds a CPA license from the New Jersey State Board of Accounting.

Saro Jahani
Chief Information Officer
Saro Jahani joined Direct Edge as CIO in April 2011. Prior to Direct Edge, Mr. Jahani served as Chief Information Officer at the National Stock Exchange (NSX), where he was responsible for overseeing and prioritizing the firm's technology to remain in line with growth initiatives and strengthening external client relationships. Prior to joining NSX, Mr. Jahani was the Global Head of Infrastructure, Operations and Facilities at Townsend Analytics. He also served as Executive Vice President of IT Operations at SunGard. Earlier in his career Mr. Jahani held various IT positions at CAP Gemini, Swedish Telecom, and Crosfield Electronics. He holds a Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Uppsala (Sweden). |

Thomas McManus
Chief Compliance and Regulatory Officer
Thomas McManus joined Direct Edge as Chief Compliance and Regulatory Officer in July 2011.
Prior to Direct Edge, Mr. McManus served as Head of Compliance, Americas for Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank plc, as well as Chief Compliance Officer of Barclays Capital Inc. and Global Head of Compliance for Barclays Capital's Equities and Prime Services Divisions. Prior to joining Barclays Capital in 2009, Mr. McManus was a Partner with Morgan, Lewis and Bockius LLP in New York. He also served as Managing Director and Counsel responsible for Institutional Equity and Prime Brokerage divisions with Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. for over a decade.
Mr. McManus has served on FINRA's Compliance Advisory Committee, and as a Chairman of FINRA's Market Regulation Committee. He has also been an active member of SIFMA/SIA since 1994, having served on numerous committees and subcommittees, including most recently the Compliance and Regulatory Policy Committee.
Mr. McManus received his J.D from The American University, and his B.A. in Economics from Boston College. |

Anthony Barchetto
Head of Strategy
Tony Barchetto joined Direct Edge as Head of Strategy in April 2011. He oversees growth initiatives, business development, and external partnerships at the firm.
Prior to Direct Edge, Mr. Barchetto held a number of senior positions at block trading platform Liquidnet Holdings, most recently serving as Head of Corporate Strategy. Mr. Barchetto started in electronic trading at Citigroup's Lava Trading, serving roles in sales and product management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barchetto was a NASDAQ market maker with Knight Capital Group.
He is a CFA charter holder and holds a BS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
